Veterans get cost-of-living increase for 2025

Disability compensation for 2025 is getting a 2.5% boost as a result of Social Security Administration’s Cost of Living (COLA) increase for the year. To keep pace with inflation and rising prices year over year, these COLA increases are mandated by law. So, when Social Security COLA increases, veterans’ disability compensation does too.

On average, this equates to a $50 per month increase, but for a single veteran receiving VA disability, this would approximate to an increase of nearly $100 at 100% disability. Veterans with dependents could receive even more. Stay tuned for updates to our VA Disability Calculator, which will begin showing 2025 compensation rates on December 1. Those payments would take effect on January 1, 2025.
