Getting urgent care locally, with no co-pay

Veterans who are enrolled in VA healthcare can get urgent care locally, at any in-network urgent care facility, such as a local non-VA doctor’s office that provides urgent care, CVS Minute Clinics, and a host of other local urgent care facilities.

You can use this urgent care benefit for minor injuries and illnesses that aren’t life-threatening—like flu, strep throat, sprained muscles, and skin and ear infections, diagnostic services like x-rays, some labs, and medicines and vaccines, and you don’t need to pay a co-pay. VA says that to be eligible, you must be enrolled in VA health care, and you had to have received care at a VA facility at some point within the past 2 years.

To find out which urgent care facilities are in-network around you, you can check out VA’s facility locator here.
